Is anybody really out there?

Granted, I don't divulge every thought, dream, fear, heartache, joy, and revelation with you on here. I do, however put deeper material on my blog than I know about most people... people whom I "know".

Who are these strangers who hit my blog from the Ukraine, Russia, Finland, Alaska, Canada, the UK, and India? I don't know you. Do you blog? Do you expose the inner workings of your soul onto the great world wide web? I'd like to know. Please do comment. Tell me where you are from. What you are about? What is your dream? What is your fear?

In my daily life, I know many people. Many are fantastic! Yet as fantastic as they are to me... I don't really know them deeply. What would they blog about? I do know several people who keep blogs. They are nice, but its all external blogging. "Today, such and such happened." Fine and all.... But I want to SEE people! I want to know how you feel! What do you struggle with? What revelations have come to you? What has God done in your heart and life? So few people blog about that... so few people talk about that. I have some guy friends who do... Thank you brothers. You know who you are. You make life real.

Can I ask you? Can I ask and then hear about what is going on inside of you? Most of the time, if I ask... I get surface answers. Evasion. Everyone is afraid of being known. Of being exposed. In this day and age of near continuous connection through facebook, text messaging, IM, telephone, email, etc... the communication and relations seem to become more and more superficial and true selves hidden. COME OUT.

Who is really out there? Tell me! If you are afraid of cyber stalking or some craziness... leave your name out of it. make a fake name... but I DO want to see the heart and soul of people who are out there... who read this. How did you find me? Do you read often, if so why? What do you fear? What are your dreams? . .. . . OH. If you have a blog, may I see it?

  1. David,

We have mutual friends from Southern Nazarene and my husband went through medical school at OU and now doing his radiology residency in San Diego. Some how I stumbled upon your blog and have read through some of your stories and you are a great writer and enjoy reading your blog about what God is doing in your life. God has done some amazing things for my family and just when I try to figure it out he continually says "just trust me" .
Thank you for your encouraging words and know that your blog is reaching MANY people all over. I have a blog, that needs to be updated, about our family. http://theschoolers.blogspot.com
Your blog has really spoken to me and so glad that I found it. Again, I have no idea how!

Marriage: Cultural Misconception Exposed.

Recently I had a single person ask me if marriage was difficult. I'm not sure I can make a statement that rings true in all and for all marriages.   My experience of marriage has been intertwined with my wife's difficult health problems. Thus my perspective has been colored. Facing life in the midst of these health problems has been the most difficult experience of my life. What I can say about marriage is that I was lied to almost my entire life. God did not invent marriage to "make us happy"... The lie propagated by nearly every facet of American society as a whole. A lie left largely un-refuted by church, or so it seemed to me. "Oh, he makes me so happy!" and then when he doesn't make you happy any longer... "I just don't love him anymore". Divorce then follows. The now single person starts looking for another source of happiness. The cycle repeats, as the broken and imperfect person seeks the wrong remedy. I do not mean to say that you

Bandon Oregon

I first played Bandon Dunes 8 years ago with my college buddies. It was beyond amazing! It was everything one could hope for, just epic! Between the mist, fog, break through sunlight, walks though dunes, pine forest, on the edge of 100’ cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean! It was simply amazing! Since then, I’ve only longed to go bock. Yet, our plans never seemed to gain traction towards  return trip to Bandon. After this 2023 last trip to Jackson Wyoming, I decided to stop waiting on others, and I planned a solo trip to Bandon. Part of being a real fan of golf, I think, involves the enjoyment of golf getting paired with other random golfers. We all share the somewhat of the same love for the game, or we wouldn’t be there. You can talk, but you don’t necessarily have to make conversation. Just talk about the golf, the surroundings, “good shot!” I initially set out for this to be a completely solo trip, just fly out on my own, but my wife ended up having a change of heart and desi
